May 5, 2010 Final notification of acceptance/non-acceptance of contestants and alternates to the competition.
May 10, 2010 Final date for all contestants and alternates to accept or decline the invitation.
May 15, 2010 Final date to make repertoire changes and/or changes in repertoire order.
May 15, 2010 Final date to submit five (5) personal photos.
May 20, 2010 Final date for Mona Lands to receive copies of complete repertoire for the accompanists.

1. COMPETITION VENUE AND DATES
The competition will take place in Los Angeles, California.
There will be three rounds which will all take place in Schoenberg Hall
in the Schoenberg Music Building at the University of California at Los Angeles.
Practice facilities will be provided in the Schoenberg Music Building.
Registration and Orientation, mandatory, Sunday, June 13, 2010
Pianists compete Monday through Saturday, June 14 through June 19, 2010
Singers compete Monday through Friday, June 14 through June 18, 2010
2. ELIGIBILITY
The 2010 competition is open to pianists and singers of any nationality who are
no younger than 17 years of age and no older than 35 years of age on June 1, 2010.
First Place winners of previous Iturbi competitions are not eligible to compete.
Applications that are not complete or do not arrive by the due date of May 1, 2010
will not be reviewed and the applicant will not be eligible to compete.
Twenty-four (24) contestants and 5 alternates in each category will be chosen to compete upon review
by the selection committee of all applications and DVD submissions. The pianists and singers
chosen to compete will be notified by May 5, 2010.
3. TRAVEL AND HOUSING
All flight and accomodation, if needed, will be taken care of by the José Iturbi Foundation.
All passport/visa are the sole responsibility of the applicant. Upon acceptance to the competition, a letter will be sent providing details regarding orientation, schedule, practice rooms and general information.
4. VOCAL ACCOMPANISTS
There are three official vocal accompanists for the competition:
Martin Katz is the Official Accompanist for the Final round of the competition.
Cathy Miller and Brent McMunn are the Official Accompanists for the Preliminary and Semi-Final rounds.
Singers will be assigned one of the two accompanists. If you prefer, you are
welcome to bring your own accompanist for the first two rounds (only) at your own expense.
For safety, please bring all of your music with you in the keys in which you wish to sing it. Remember to mail accompanist copies of your entire repertoire to Mona Lands by the due date of May 1st.
5. PRACTICE AND WARM-UP SPACE
There are practice and warm-up rooms in the Schoenberg Music Building.
6. DRESS CODE
Preliminary and Semi-Final Rounds: Dresses for the ladies and suits for the men.
Final Round: Formal attire. Gowns for the ladies and tuxedoes for the men.
