PIANISTS 2009
Viacheslav Kiselev, born into a musical family, started to play the piano when he was five. One year later he entered the children’s Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory. At the age of fourteen he entered the Academic Music College of the Moscow State Conservatory. Since then he has taken part in more than forty concerts per year in Moscow and cities throughout Russia and abroad. He has played in festivals, charitable concerts, solo recitals, chamber music concerts and orchestral concerts in venues such as the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Is Sanat in Istanbul, Salle Cortot in Paris and at Oxford University. At the age of sixteen he became a prizewinner of the Eastman Young Artist International Piano Competition which brought him to perform in the Eastman Theater. After winning this award he entered the Eastman School of Music on scholarship. Here in the United States he became a prizewinner of the Viardo International Piano Competition and the Morocco International Piano Competition. There have been articles written about him in the Rochester Democrat, the Chronicle, Business Week and the Morrocan News. He has recordings broadcast on radio and on the “Culture” channel (Moscow, Russia), “Melodia” and Casablanca TV channels.
