Rhoslyn Jones, soprano, has won the Mario Lanza Competition, the CBC Debut Competition, the Vancouver Women’s Musical Society Competition and was heard on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera as a national semi-finalist of the 2008 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Ms. Jones began her 2008–2009 season with an invitation to the Competizione dell’Opera in Dresden at the Semperoper and then made her company and role debut with Vancouver Opera as Tatyana in Eugene Onegin. Another company debut was as Musetta in La bohéme with Pittsburgh Opera. During the 2007-2008 season Ms. Jones was heard in San Francisco Opera’s productions of Appomattox, The Magic Flute, and La Rondine and made her debut with Chicago Opera Theater as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni. As an Adler Fellow in 2006-2007, she made her debut with San Francisco Opera singing the role of Frasquita in Carmen. She also appeared with Arizona Opera in the title role of Floyd’s Susannah. In the summer of 2008, Ms. Jones was a participant with The Steans Institute for Young Artists at the Ravinia Festival. As an Oratorio soloist, she has performed Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah and Haydn’s The Creation.
