Mr. Job is a Southern California native who has established himself as an important talent in the world of opera. His interpretations of the operatic and concert repertoire have been highly praised, with the press describing him as “youthful, agile, handsome, and with the voice to match;” with “commanding sonority” and “authoritative low notes.” A Richard Tucker Foundation Career Grant nominee in 2007, he is the 2007 Winner of the North Dakota District of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, 2nd Place Winner for the Upper Midwest Region in 2007 and Rocky Mountain Region in 2006, and is also the Grand Prize Winner of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition of 2005.
Mr. Job joins the Roster of The Metropolitan Opera for the 2009-2010 Season, taking part in From the House of the Dead and The Nose. Recently, he was seen at Des Moines Metro Opera as a “raucously virile” Kilian in Der Freischütz and Angelotti in Tosca. He made his European debut, singing Il Podestà in Rossini’s La gazza ladra and Sparafucile in Rigoletto with Teatro Comunale di Bologna this spring. He has performed with Glimmerglass Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Minnesota Opera, Opera Pacific, Opera Colorado, Opera Omaha, New York Philharmonic, Charleston Symphony and numerous symphonies in Colorado.
