Lyric Soprano Rebecca Davis is fast becoming known for her brilliant and warm vocal timbre. Her voice has been characterized as “majestic, supple, and elegant”. Rebecca made her Chicago Symphony Orchestra debut in 2008 and her Carnegie Hall debut in 2006. Ms. Davis has been reviewed as “captivating” for her acting and stage deportment, “a visceral actress with insight and presence”. In her blossoming career, Rebecca has appeared in the roles of many heroines including Adina, Donna Elvira, Violetta, Fiordiligi, Leonora, Poppea, Abigail Williams, Cio Cio San, Mimi, Musetta, Micaela, Tosca, and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin. Ms. Davis has performed with such companies as Chicago Opera Theater, the Sarasota Opera, the Kentucky Opera, Opera North, Music by the Lake, DuPage Opera Theatre, and Opera San Jose. Rebecca has earned numerous singing awards, including the Grand Prize of the Chicago Bel Canto, finalist of the Tri-State Region in the Metropolitan Opera Competition, and most recently a Finalist and participant in the Winners Concert of the Renata Tebaldi International Singing Competition in 2009. Recent engagements included the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro and Magda in La Rondine with Opera San Jose. This summer, Rebecca will be participating in San Francisco Opera’s prestigious Merola program.
